Butterfly World

Butterfly World is located in Coconut Creek, Florida. It began as a hobby and has grown to be a center to help preserve and educate. Butterflies live on average 7 days on the outside, and 14 days within Butterfly World.

Blue Morpho
The blue morpho is among the largest butterflies in the world, with wings spanning from five to eight inches. Their vivid, iridescent blue coloring is a result of the microscopic scales on the backs of their wings, which reflect light. The underside of the morpho’s wings, on the other hand, is a dull brown color with many eyespots, providing camouflage against predators such as birds and insects when its wings are closed.
This was the fastest flying butterfly and capturing the one and only photograph was a challenge.

Atala

Of course, I had to shoot some texture. This is a closeup of the rope bridge.
