Memorial Weekend

What are you plans for this holiday weekend? Ours will be a busy one meeting family in West Palm for lunch, saying good-bye to a great friend and hitting the Home Design Show. Of course I have to fit scrapbooking in my time off.

Sierra is too darn cute in these big girl sunglasses.

Don’t forget remember those that sacrifice their lives so we are free today. We celebrate my cousin, Korean War Purple Heart recipient Allan Kivlehan who died serving our country at the tender age of 18 years old.

Praise to service men and women around the globe.

Sweet Sunday

Since the world didn’t come to an end, I did what I like best. I created some layouts.

It’s been a rough month with construction work around the house and living with everything covered and looking a mess. Rachel’s RSD ( pain is flaring. She has been experiencing symptoms in her right hand and wrist which is new pain. For years it has isolated to only her left leg. We met with her doctor this past week and have scheduled more Ketamine infusions in two weeks.
The doctor has two beautiful daughters and I always enjoy making pages for her to enjoy. It is a small repayment for the improved life Rachel has had in exchange.

Despite my completing four books last week, I am working on an expanded version of Heidi & Mark’s wedding album. Just Married is a page for the new book.

Created with Queen of Hearts Sin City Templates and Loreta Labarca & Busy Bee Designs Yes I do

I'm hosting two great challenges at Scrapbook Elements...all you scrappers, I hope you will join in.

Make it a GREAT day!

I was missing in action. Did you notice? LOL. I had a deadline to make four Shutterfly scrapbooks. There is nothing like a project to keep a girl busy. With that complete I can get back into making layouts.

My cousin’s daughter is graduating high school this month. I had to made a page for Emilee. Some say that she looks like me when I was younger.

Created with Heather T. Sandy Toes Kit, Erica Zwart Essentials no.1 Stitches, and Busy Bee Designs Birthday bash template.

Congrats Emilee- Job well done.

Our good friends Ali, Mark and Zoe will be leaving south Florida next week. I’m so sad to see them go. They are truly beautiful souls. These pages were from our beach picnic in November.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day.
Today didn’t turn out quite the way I expected but I am managing to have some “me” time and that means scrapbooking. I started to think about my grandmother who has long since passed. She was a quiet woman who raised her seven children during the hardest times this country has faced, the Great Depression. My fondest memories would be when she came to visit and we would have a cup of tea and hang out. I attribute my love of tea to my Nana.

I created this page as a tribute to Mary Scott Cartwright, My Nana.

Created with Lilacs in Bloom Spring Song Template and Starlight’s A Sweet Cup of Tea.

One of Nana’s great grandchildren graduates this year from high school. Emilee was named Prom Queen. She is as beautiful inside as she is within. A sweet girl raised by very loving parents.

Working with Emilee’s graduation photos was so much fun I had to add one more to today’s batch. What better way to showcase this colorful kit than to use a black and white photo.

To round out a weekend of fun scrapbooking I had to add a pet page. One of my favorite four legged hairy guys is Auggie. Here he is frolicking on the Pacific Coast.
Created with Melie.d's soon to be realeased new kit.

Don’t forget the great moms in your life. If it weren’t for mothers none of us would be here.

If you haven’t already, please sign up to be notified when I have made a new post. I can use fans- PLEASE.
